The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) is the definitive source for news and information about 40 neuromuscular diseases, MDA research, and services available to adults and children with neuromuscular diseases and their families. The site includes a searchable listing of their 230 MDA clinics across the country; numerous publications concerning neuromuscular diseases, including versions of MDA's Quest Magazine and The ALS Newsletter. Accelerated Cure Project Art Mellor The Accelerated Cure Project (formerly the Boston Cure Project) is the brainchild of Art Mellor, a successful Boston-area technology business owner. After being diagnosed with MS and learning that researchers were not nearing a cure for this difficult illness, he quit his job and co-founded the ACP (along with his neurologist Tim Vartanian, MD) to jumpstart progress towards the cure. With the assistance of Boston-area physicians, the non-profit ACP is in the middle of performing a comprehensive research review designed to organize all existing MS-related research and to extract from this body of knowledge best-paths for future research towards a cure. They are fund-raising to develop a tissue bank which will facilitate future research efforts, and will ultimately fund direct research efforts which focus on research questions they want answered.
