Coordinates and supervises the operation of a program component within a division of the Center. Overseas delivery of care and activities of the nursing staff; provides ongoing professional staff development and evaluation; facilitates effective interdepartmental communication, documentation of reports and charts; and ensures overall quality of care. Participates in Quality Improvement activities. Work performed will primarily involve supervision of staff and resource development and limited involvement.
Skills/ Requirements
Requirements (Education, License, Certification, and/or Skills) EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: • Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate Degree from an NLN approved program with a minimum of three-year experience and evidence of progressive responsibility. Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Florida. • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, consumers, employees and general public. • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent. • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Working Conditions PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk without the assistance of any device; use hands to finger, handle, or feel persons, objects, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and to speak and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employees is occasionally required to bend the body to a 45-degree angle, bend knees to squatting position, balance weight on knees, grasp and hold for at least 5 minutes, and, with the assistance of two people, lift a minimum of 100 pounds from a squatting position. |
