Under direct supervision of the program supervisor and psychiatric staff, this professional position focuses on the maintenance of the consumers improved level of functioning and assists in preventing the need for more restrictive service in the outpatient setting. The counselor monitors the individuals in their caseload and is also responsible for repforting any difficulties, which may require medical intervention by the psychiatric staff. Referrals are made for needs identified which are not part of the services offered. Family and other significant caregivers will be involved with the consumers consent. This position requires employee to train new counselors, limited supervision of lowere level counslors, cordinates/monitors service delivery. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: BA in human services or related discipline and two years relevant experience. Ability to read, analyze and interpret clinical recod information, department procedures, technical procedures and governmental regulations. Able to assess and record observations; and complete professional and business correspondence. Ability to effective present information clearly and concisely in verbal and written form.
